Le Pré Catelan restaurant, one of the most highly regarded gastronomic restaurants in Brazil, became a part of a select group which has the highest rating of three stars in the Quatro Rodas Guide – 2008 edition, with an evaluation system inspired by the Michelin Guide. Chef Roland Villard, who has headed the restaurant for more than ten years, was elected by the professional of this publication as “Chef of the Year”.
With a daring architectural project, the restaurant has a mother of pearl covered bar, imported from the Philippines, tables with a view of Copacabana beach, Austrian Swarovski crystal chandeliers and high technology LED lighting, filling the atmosphere with nuances of color, which, thanks to a special program, can be changed automatically.
An exclusive service is also offered: “Table du Chef”. The client is personally received by chef Roland Villard in his office, in the Sofitel kitchen, and can dine on samples prepared especially for the client. A sample menu is prepared, with no limit to the number of plates, and offered by the chef. At the end of this gastronomic marathon, the client receives a certificate and a menu of the dishes served.
